Tirzepatide Providers in Tennessee

60 listed in Tennessee · Listings last verified October 2026 · How we vet listings

We list tirzepatide providers across Tennessee, mainly in Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville (60 in total). Tirzepatide is the medicine in Zepbound and Mounjaro. Most listings are medical weight loss clinics, plus some primary care and diabetes practices. Compare the listings below, then call the practice to ask about insurance, costs and new-patient openings.

Tirzepatide (Zepbound, Mounjaro) providers in Tennessee are mostly medical weight loss clinics in the Nashville, Memphis and Knoxville areas, with a smaller group around Chattanooga. Our list includes only providers whose own website or Google listing names tirzepatide.

What it is

Tirzepatide is a once-weekly prescription shot made by Eli Lilly. It acts on two gut hormones, GIP and GLP-1, that help control appetite and blood sugar. It's sold under two brand names:

  • Zepbound is approved for weight loss and keeping weight off. It's also approved to treat moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity [1].
  • Mounjaro is approved for adults with type 2 diabetes [3].

Zepbound comes as a single-dose pen, a vial or a multi-dose KwikPen that holds 4 weekly doses. You start at 2.5 mg and go up by 2.5 mg at least every 4 weeks, to a maintenance dose of 5, 10 or 15 mg [1]. The label has a boxed warning about thyroid tumors seen in animal studies [1].

Who it's for

Zepbound is for adults with obesity, or with overweight plus at least one weight-related health problem, such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol. It's also for adults with obesity who have moderate to severe sleep apnea [1].

It's used along with a lower-calorie diet and more activity. Most people stay on it long term, because weight often returns after stopping.

Mounjaro is for adults with type 2 diabetes. If you have diabetes, your doctor will usually start there, since diabetes coverage is easier to get.

Tirzepatide isn't right for everyone. Tell your provider if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2, or if you've had pancreatitis [1]. It isn't approved for people under 18 [1].

Cost and coverage

Commercial insurance. If your plan covers Zepbound pens, the savings card can bring your cost to as little as $25 a fill. It pays up to $100 a month and $1,300 a year [2]. Mounjaro's card works the same way, paying up to $150 a month for covered patients [3]. Both cards end December 31, 2026 [2][3].

Self-pay. Lilly sells the Zepbound KwikPen and vials for $299 a month at 2.5 mg and $399 at 5 mg. Higher doses are $449 a month if you refill within 45 days. If you wait longer, the price goes up to $499 for 7.5 mg and $699 for 10 to 15 mg [2].

Medicare. From July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027, the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge covers the Zepbound KwikPen for $50 a month. Single-dose pens and vials aren't included. You need Part D coverage, prior approval and a qualifying BMI. If you have type 2 diabetes or moderate to severe sleep apnea, you're not eligible for the Bridge, but your Part D plan may cover tirzepatide [4].

Medicaid. States must cover these drugs for diabetes but can choose whether to cover them for weight loss [5].

How to choose a provider

Look for real medical care. A good provider reviews your health history, orders lab work when needed and checks in as your dose goes up. Ask who handles side effects like nausea, and how often you'll be seen.

Ask what they prescribe. Ask if they prescribe brand-name Zepbound or Mounjaro. Some businesses sell compounded "tirzepatide" instead. Compounded drugs are not FDA approved, and FDA has had reports of people hurt by dosing mistakes [6]. FDA declared the tirzepatide shortage over in December 2024 [7]. Our list doesn't include businesses that market compounded GLP-1s.

Ask about the paperwork. Ask if they'll handle prior approval with your insurer. If you have sleep apnea, ask whether they can document it. That's a separate approved use that some plans cover.

Confirm the basics yourself. Call to check insurance, new-patient openings and telehealth. We don't verify these.

Frequently asked questions

Are Zepbound and Mounjaro the same drug?

Yes. Both are tirzepatide, made by Eli Lilly, with the same dose steps. Zepbound is approved for weight loss and for sleep apnea in adults with obesity. Mounjaro is approved for type 2 diabetes. Because the approved uses differ, insurance plans cover them under different rules.

How much does Zepbound cost without insurance?

Lilly sells the Zepbound KwikPen and vials for $299 a month at 2.5 mg, $399 at 5 mg and $449 at higher doses if you refill within 45 days. If you refill later, higher doses cost $499 to $699 a month. Prices can change, so check Lilly's site before you fill.

Does Medicare cover Zepbound?

Often, yes. From July 2026 through December 2027, the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge covers the Zepbound KwikPen for $50 a month for eligible people with Part D. You need prior approval and a qualifying BMI. People with sleep apnea or type 2 diabetes go through their regular Part D plan instead.

Is compounded tirzepatide safe?

FDA says compounded drugs are not FDA approved, and the agency doesn't check them for safety, quality or effectiveness. FDA has received reports of people hospitalized after dosing errors. The tirzepatide shortage ended in December 2024, and brand-name Zepbound is now sold at self-pay prices.

How is tirzepatide taken?

Zepbound and Mounjaro are shots you give yourself under the skin once a week. You start at 2.5 mg for 4 weeks, then raise the dose by 2.5 mg no faster than every 4 weeks. For weight loss, the usual maintenance dose is 5, 10 or 15 mg. The KwikPen holds 4 weekly doses of one strength.
