What Is Takis?

Takis is a brand that offers snacks and treats. There were some rumors around social media regarding the dangers of Takis to children’s health. One parent claimed that the snack brand carries a significant risk of ulcers or cancers to their children.

Do Takis Give You Lung Cancer?

However, there is not enough research to back these claims up. While it is true that excessive consumption of spicy snack foods can cause stomach problems. But, there is no evidence that suggests that it is tied or will be the cause of ulcers or cancers. 

The truth of the matter is, excessive consumption of spicy Takis snack, or any unhealthy and spicy snack for that matter, can lead to stomach pains. It can also lead to gastritis if consumed excessively. 

However, there is not enough evidence that it can cause ulcers and cancer, especially lung cancer. So the short answer is no. Takis do not give you lung cancer. 

Health Risks of Junk Food

But you should also take note that junk food is not good for your health. This is why we highly recommend sticking to a healthier diet, and consuming junk food on an occasional basis only. 

Too much of anything is a health risk, even if it does not give you lung cancer, or any type of cancer, you should still be wary of the things you put in your body.

  • Homemade potato chips – make it even more healthier by baking or air-frying your chips

  • Baked veggie fries – instead of buying frozen fries, or fast food fries, you can easily make baked veggie fries at home.
  • Baked sweet potato fries or chips
  • Swap your guacamole with fresh homemade salsa as a dip for your chips
  • Try seeded crackers instead of chips
  • Beef jerky – choose organic meat that is high in protein.
  • Cucumber and celery slices
  • Baked lentil chips
  • Roasted cashews
  • Baked apples 
  • Roasted chickpeas
  • Homemade trail mix instead of store-bought ones
