Nasal Polyp Removal and Treatment Options

Top Nasal Polyp Removal and Treatment Options

Nasal polyp’s are usually removed and treated two days, medication or surgery.

They can be difficult to cure and usually require a long term treatment plan to clear up.

Nasal Polyp Medications

Dupixent

An injection for chronic sinusitis and nasal polyp’s that may help lessen congestion and reduce the size of polyp’s.

Nasal Corticosteroids

Essentially nasal sprays design to help reduce irritation and swelling.

Common brands include fluticasone (Flonase Allergy Relief, Flovent HFA, Xhance), budesonide (Rhinocort), mometasone (Nasonex, Asmanex HFA), triamcinolone (Nasacort Allergy 24HR), beclomethasone (Beconase AQ, Qvar Redihaler, Qnasl) and ciclesonide (Omnaris, Alvesco, Zetonna).

Oral and Injectable Corticosteroids

If nasal corticosteriods don’t work, or you have a severe case of polyp’s, you might be prescribed prednisone with or without the nasal spray.

For several cases, a prednisone shot may be prescribed. Regardless, these will be done for a limited time because of side effect concerns.

Long Term Prescriptions

In some cases, you may get a long term prescription designed to treat swelling in your nasal and sinus cavities, especially during certain times of the year when allergy factors might be impactful in your environment.

Up next, nasal polyp surgery.
